August 2011: A Look in the Rear-View Mirror

Tour the Real Up House:
We toured the real "Up" house built like the house in the Disney Pixar movie, Up.  It's for sale so you can live in your own Up house.




Near Abductions:
I shared the two times I was almost abducted as a child. Your comments on that post were so moving...thank you for sharing your stories.






Tablescape Thursday Party: Displaying and Decorating with China:
We were treated to Jeanne's amazing talent for decorating and displaying her china collection for the seasons and special holidays.  Every hutch display was amazing!




A Film for Foodies:
We watched a quick 1 minute movie of how three crazy guys dined all around the world in 44 days.

After touring the wonderful home in the movie, It's Complicated, we toured Lauren and Harley's cute cottage from the same movie.

We took a walking tour of beautiful Savannah, Georgia.




Miracle Makeover for Charlie Grady:
We were inspired by a miracle makeover for Charlie.



Learning to Sew:
I shared Halloween costumes I made many years ago.





How to Make Piping for a Pillow, Cushion or Slip Cover:
I put together a little tutorial sharing the easy steps to making your own custom piping.





Tablescape Thursday Party: Dinner for Two
It was time for a romantic dinner for two out on the deck.

Chaos, Progress and Mario Buatta
Misery love company so I  let you see the mess I made painting the closets. lol  Then we recovered with a wonderful interview of Mario Buatta...love his sense of humor!





Beautiful Lake House Kitchen Renovation:

A fabulous Before and After for a vacation home at the lake...




Hooked on Ikea:
I visited IKEA for the very first time...Wow!   Come along for some IKEA fun.






Closet Renovations:  More like a freshening up...
Two closets in my home got a little make-over and the crown molding and baseboard in the office was finally painted.





Tablescape Thursday Party: Tablescaping Deja Vu and the Blue Hour
Shared a tablescape on the porch with a pretty napkin fold.





Napkin Folding Tutorial:  The Butterfly
Posted the "how-to" for "The Butterfly" napkin fold...





Bottle Tree Dreams in Abundance
The bottle tree got a little update with with some shiny new bottles...





A Library for the Sewcroff
The Sewcroff (Sewing Room/Craft Room/Office) saw a big addition(s)




Billy Bookcase, Easy to Assemble
We looked at just how amazingly versatile the Billy Bookcase really is...easy to assemble, too!

Cornelia invited us for dinner in her lovely garden in Switzerland.
