Scavenger Hunt Update:
I've received 24 entries so far for the fun Scavenger Hunt posted this morning. You guys are awesome detectives! Question #13 has proved a teensy tricky for a few folks, so read that one carefully.
Roosters and Chickens Party:
Shelia at Note Songs is hosting a Heart of the Home Party and the theme is "Roosters and Chickens." I never like to miss a good hen party so I'm joining in with a tablescape I put together a while back that runneth over with our fine feathered friends. As Shelia says, gather those yard birds together and come join in!
Hope you enjoy this fun table setting. If you are still yearning for more rooster inspiration, I've also added a link at the end of this post to another rooster tablescape I put together a while back.
So, without further cock-a-doodle-do, I present to you a Rooster themed tablescape. :)

Hello Susan,
ReplyDeleteoh my, what a fabulous rooster party. I guess, the cute rooster plates are Italian Deruta. That is just the type they decorate. Your table is happy and colorful and I hope, you did cook rooster at the end.
Best greetings, Johanna

Susan, lovely bright tablescape.
ReplyDeleteA question about the napkin sheaths, are they a circle of organza? I think they are so pretty would love to make some of these
Thank you,
Meg
Hi Megan, No, they are square. They are cut/hemmed where they have kind of ruffled edge...not sure how they achieved that. But I don't think it's necessary to give them a ruffled edge, although it is pretty. It's probably best to cut them just a little smaller than the napkin so the napkin will stick out a bit and show. I paid way too much for these, so making them sounds like a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteMegan, continuing my other comment, the more I look at those sheaths, I'm wondering if just sewing that type of fabric sort of stretches it and gives it that sort of wavy edge effect.
ReplyDeleteI adore the napkins! Such a beautiful tablescape! I just don't understand how your porch is further south than mine yet yours always looks 20 degrees cooler than mine. Enjoyed the post as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan for the info on the napkins. Will have to play around with these and see what I can come up with!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, that's cheery!! LUV the roosters, etc. I had a pet red rooster growing up that rode on my shoulder...his name was "Red." franki
ReplyDeleteHow on earth did I miss this, Susan? Did you come late to the party??? I love your 'scape, and I love you, too.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Love the colors! Love that fat little rooster centerpiece! A nest of greens makes one happy rooster! Love everything about this table.
