All this warm weather we're having has me thinking spring. This table setting would work well as an Easter tablescape with its springtime colors.
The breezes stirred the sheers on the porch as I photographed this setting. I couldn't resist snapping a pic through the wind swept sheers.
If you have a really large serving bowl in the pattern you're using, or a bowl that coordinates with your table, consider using it as part of your floral centerpiece.
I have daffodils blooming in the yard but not wanting to dig those up, I found these at Home Depot. They were inexpensive and will transplant into the garden nicely once they are no longer blooming.
I've used the napkins before in THIS table setting. They were a gift from a friend years ago.
This china, Ma Maison, by Tabletops Unlimited is one of my favorite patterns, if not my very fave.
The pattern includes all the things I most love: gardening hats and clogs, beautiful flowers, kitty cats, picket fences, garden benches, watering cans and a house surrounded in wisteria and flowering vines. Please, may I move in?
Inside the bowl you'll find white fluffy clouds against a blue sky and a pretty bouquet of flowers tied with a lavender ribbon.
The salad plate is Ma Maison by Tabletops Unlimited, designed by Darrio Farrucci. The sunny-yellow dinner plate is Colorwave "Mustard" by Noritake. It worked nicely with our daffodil centerpiece.
Iced Beverage glasses are from Pier 1 and were used previously in THIS "corny" table setting. Wine glasses were a recent find at Dollar Tree.
You'll find another table set with Ma Maison HERE and HERE.
Tip: As tempting as it might be, try to resist cutting off the foliage once your daffodils stop blooming. The foliage soaks up the good nutrients from the sun and feeds the bulb so it will bloom beautifully again the following year. Once the foliage turns yellow and starts to die back, that's the time to tidy up and trim it away.
I didn't intensify any of the colors in the photos with photo editing software. The flowers were just so vivid! I potted the daffodils into a large Ma Maison serving bowl and added decorative moss on top for a finished appearance. In the past, I have used the cookie jar and tea pitcher in this pattern for table floral arrangements HERE.

ReplyDeleteCelia...hope spring arrives soon for you. This is so unusual for us this time of year.
DeleteLove your dishes! And the napkins are precious too. So glad you can set your table on the porch! We are enjoying warm weather here in the Midwest too! PS. I took all of my pictures in Manual mode for my table this week! Thank you for giving me the courage!
ReplyDeleteXO Cindy
Cindy...that's awesome! You go, girl! It isn't as hard as we thought, is it? Not quite so scary after you do it a few times.
DeleteSusan - your porch is beautiful, as always! Mine needs a good spring cleaning! Your Ma Maison china is charming! Thanks for hosting.

ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
Yes, it's almost here!
DeleteAbsolutely love this table, Susan! I am ready for Spring!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat! Me, too!
DeleteThis is a wonderful breath of Spring. We had 70ยบ temps yesterday, and looking at more of the same today. I love that the chairs came dressed for the party, too. The accent plates are absolutely charming. Thanks for inviting us for a peak and for providing this wonderful meme each week. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny how the chair pads coordinated. That was an accident. Thanks, Cherry Kay!
DeleteBeautiful tablescape. Love the flowers and the dishes. We are having nice weather hear today a bit breezy in New Jersey but then back to cold over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour tabelescape is making me wish I could take lunch outside.
Cynthia, do it! Life is short...go for it! :)
DeleteI love your Ma Maison also Susan! It makes me ready to get started in the garden, alas, as you can see by my tablescape, we just started our snow season and when it comes this late, it usually goes really late too!
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils just make me happy! Love their gorgeous color.
I absolutely LOVE your porch. Every table you make is beautiful! I love the green glasses and the beautiful yellow plant. What beautiful colors!! Thanks for sharing your gift. ~ Linda
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Linda!
DeleteGorgeous! I love the bright yellow daffodils! It supposed to be 82 here today so I am really wishing for springtime today. I am so ready to see more bright sunny colors outside and no more grey! Love your colorful seat cushions and the colors of your bottle tree outside too!
ReplyDeleteI so agree...can't wait for spring! Funny that the cushions just happen to work with the table. :)
DeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your table on the porch. I can almost feel the breeze coming in. Reminds of SPRING. Pat
I'm so inspired by your centerpiece! I always thought buying those flowers already blooming was such a waste, but I can plant them outside after and enjoy them year after year! I think I just had an "Aha" moment there. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI know, Courtenay...I'm the same way about flowers, normally. I always feel bad to toss them out when they die after a few days. I'm definitely going to put these out in the yard once they are done blooming.
DeleteHi lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sunny and delightful tablescape. It just screams spring to me. I love yellow! Your centerpiece is indeed perfect match, as well as the silverware and glasses. So cute. Thanks so much for hosting your Party.
Have a wonderful week with your family.
XXOO Diane
Thanks so much, Diane!
DeletePretty Spring tablescape and I just LOVE the napkins!!
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils are beautiful. Thank You for hosting and have a great weekend!
Aledia
I am so jealous of your porch and the weather. The table looks great. I love the bright color and the promise of Spring. While it's 60 degrees today, the hint of winter is still with us. I'll be glad when I can set a table outside and use the yellow color scheme.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteWe have loads of Daffoldils once spring hits us here - Tulips too but the deer won't allow the blooms last but just a few short hours! What we do in the garden to keep the foliage but to "tidy up" the garden is something my mother taught me: we fold the leaves over in half and tie them down. That way it really remedies the unkempt look in the garden ever slightly, but still allows the sun to sustain "feeding" the bulbs for future generations.
Anyway, your tablescape is lovely and your porch is always such a welcome sight.
Thank you for hosting such a wonderful link party each week.
I've seen that done on garden tours, Michele...but I wasn't sure if they could still really absorb the sunshine. If it works in your yard...it must be okay. :)
DeleteSweetest table-scape ever. I love these dishes. What can I say about your porch...paradise. Deb=^..^=x4
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks, Deb! Ready to spend more time out there!
DeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this tablescape. It takes me away to warm spring breezes and sweet smells of flowers. A nice respite from the blustery winter winds outside my door. Your dishes are adorable and I can see in my near future a trip to The Home Depot to get some of those beautiful daffodils.
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI feel full of spring looking at your tablescape. The napkins are so cute adding that extra touch and the green glassware too. Love it! I wish I had enough cupboard space to purchase more china. Your Ma Maison sure is beautiful :)
Have a nice day,
Sanna
Thanks, Sanna! I'm mostly just buy salad plates now...gives me lots of different tables without having to buy a whole new set.
DeleteWow ...the table is just stunning...the colors are simply beautiful and the photographs are amazing...you are loving that camera...I hope you don't mind I posted my post with the big new on it...it's kind of like a tablescape...lol...^..^
ReplyDeletePhyllis...sounds good. I'm having fun with my new hobby...it's addictive! I still have sooo much to learn!
DeleteLove the table setting. Loved all of it. V
ReplyDeleteAdorable china and napkins. They like they were custom-made for your porch. Absolutely lovely tablescape.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color choices! The green of the glasses and the yellow of the daffodils are perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove the napkins too, what a extra nice gift =)
I think your St. Patrick's Day post from a couple of years ago with the BIG vase of daffodils on the tray with your Irish dishes hooked me on BNOTP.
Enjoy your weather and porch. I am jealous.
Oh, I remember that table setting. I had several folks asked how I got the daffodil stems to swirl in the glass vase the way they did. I had to admit it was purely an accident. I didn't even realize they had done that until I looked at the pics later. lol
DeleteWhat a breath of fresh Spring air this tablescape is. Beautiful. Thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteOh your table looks lovely. Those daffs are just so sunny. I am excited for you guys that Spring is on it's way. Unfortunately that means the end of Summer for us here in Australia. But everyone gets their turn I guess.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn xx
Carolyn, isn't it the truth. I'm always so jealous when we're facing winter and you guys are going into spring. I guess we wouldn't appreciate spring and summer without the winter. Seems like the older I get the more I find myself enjoying all the seasons. They are all wonderful in different ways.
DeleteDaffodils are so pretty. I just love them! And I love that kitty on the bowl! What a pretty table setting. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful table setting!
ReplyDelete...love the dishes and the daffodils :) It could almost be an Easter table - we used to decorate with daffodils when I grew up in Sweden, especially around Easter. Just add a few chickens and some Easter eggs and you're set ;)
Greetings from Australia♥
You're right! Would be great for Easter! :)
DeleteLove your tablescape, something about that green glass...it's gorgeous, as are the Daffodils. Some of mine popped up and froze a few days ago, but thankfully have lots more to come.
ReplyDeleteOh, no. I thought they could handle the cold. Yikes. Glad you have more coming!
DeleteI think that this is one of my favorites. I also see how your bottle tree is growing & BLOOMING with Spring colors. Deeelightful!
ReplyDeleteBeckie in Brentwood, TN
I think it needs a bit of washing after the winter. lol
DeleteBeautiful as always!!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I love this table! The dishes, the green glasses...so pretty and that flatware! I saw that at Tuesday Morning and debated and debated about whether or not I should get it...like I need another set...but after seeing yours here...ummm I think I need another set and this is it! lol
ReplyDeleteI also LOVE the shot with the sheer coming across the frame! SO pretty!
Nancy
Nancy...I did the same thing...passed it up a few times. This time I gave in. lol Thanks!
DeleteWhat beautiful china! I love it!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I hope you enjoyed your warm weather today! I heard it was in the upper 70's, and that sounds wonderful to me! Your bottle tree caught my eye in the background, and I plan on constructing one in the woods at our cottage this year. Love the cheery tablescape!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, you will love it! A friend of mine bought one (the frame) and filled hers right after I did mine. She says it's one of her most favorite things in her yard/garden. They just make you smile when you see them! Plus, no ghosts! ;)
DeleteBeautiful and fresh, Susan. Love those daffodils!
ReplyDeleteLove the pretty spring look on your porch. We've gone from snow on Monday to the 70's today! What a difference 4 days can make.
ReplyDeleteMartha, that sounds like the crazy weather we have here...one extreme to the other! Stay warm!
DeleteHey Susan! I love your set..Ma Maison. How sweet! The Daffs really set off your table...then there's the cushions, just perfect. I need to go check out Home Depot's Garden Dept..this past weekend I was there to pick out some new bathroom fixtures . wahoo! Have a great week and thank you for osting this party that I gather inspiration from evey week! Huggs, Sunny D
ReplyDeleteOooh, I so need to do bath renovations! They are just starting to get a few things in for spring. :)
DeleteLove, love, love it. The bright green and yellow is my favorite with the Ma Maison. Is this with your new camera?
ReplyDeleteSandy, yes, those were taken with the D7000. I waited a bit late in the day to take my pics so the light was much dimmer than I would have liked. I'm still learning about judging the correct DOF for the shot...so I wasn't always thrilled with how much was in focus. I was so surprised at how intense the color was in so many of the photos...must the 35mm lens I was using because I only increased the saturation on one photo. The rest are straight out of the camera with a little lightening/sharpening/cropping on a few pics.
DeleteI'm impressed! Great shots. I would never have guessed it was less light. Of course, the photographer gets the credit. I think it's funny when people say that's-a-great-picture-what-kind-of-camera-do-you-have. It's like the camera gets all the credit. :-)
DeleteGood grief! The napkins with the bike on them make me want to weep they're so gorgeous! Beautiful tablescape as always.
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks. I love those, too. My sweet friend, Jan, gave those to me.
DeleteSuch a pretty tablescape. I love the napkins!
ReplyDeleteSusan your beautiful table gives me hope that spring will come again this year!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for being such a gracious host. Your table is so welcome today, we are in the middle of a snowstorm.
ReplyDeleteI think they are my favorite dishes from your collection too....the pictures came out so gorgeous...Now i really need to take my D7000 out of the box and take my lessons!!!...Your tablescape is beautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteShirley, get that camera out of the box girlfriend! It's time to play!
DeleteMorning Susan~~~
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table. You always have such lovely posts. I love visiting here. Wonder if I could still find that china. .somewhere? I'll be looking for it. Love the black cat.
~ ~Ahrisha~~
Ahrisha, It's hard to find for sure. I had to drive around to 3-4 HomeGoods the day I found it. I wanted 6 full place settings and each store had just a few pieces. About a week later I found some additional salad/dessert size plates on eBay and ordered those. I've never seen it on eBay again, except for a few serving pieces but you never know. Replacementsdotcom may get some in sometime...may be worth checking occasionally.
DeleteYour cheery tablescape is so wonderfully spring-like. What says spring better than daffodils? I love the way you layer your dishes and those napkins are perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shelia!
DeleteI have been in love with these dishes since the very first table you shared with them! They are just beautiful. The daffs are GORGEOUS, I actually thught they were fake at first because they are so colorful!!! GREEN bamboo flatware!!!! I will be on the hunt for that now:) It is beautiful as well. The napkins I remember and love too! Your table is stunning my friend. XO, Pinky Thanks again for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pinky! Check Tuesday Morning. It was really inexpensive there.
DeleteSusan, you have certainly set a happy table. Love the yellow daffodils with their orange face. The dishes and napkins are perfect together. I hope your weekend is filled with springtime glory to mimic this beautiful table. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sarah...same to you and your dear hubby!
Deleteyour table settings are absolutely breathtaking! I'm always inspired to set a prettier table after seeing your posts. Thanks for sharing your beautiful talent!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks Tracy! ♥
DeleteSusan, as always your tablescape is just beautiful. Each week when I see it I am amazed at your ability to make the settings new and different and always so pretty. Thank you. By the way--I just love those darling napkins from your friend...
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!. I especially like the dished.
ReplyDeleteOk, Susan, rub it in. You Southern gals will be posting flowers while your Northern friends are still wearing wool! We won't see a bloom around here for at least 6 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI guess it is time to take those snowmen in your header down, they must be melting in your gorgeous weather.
Your table is beautiful, a breath of fresh air. Love the dishes , and the dafs are so cheerful!
Ha! Well, this is highly unusual, Kathleen. The daffodils bloomed a whole month early! Even the Redbud trees have already bloomed. Crazy weather this year! Wishing you an early spring with lots and lots of pretty daffodils!
DeleteLove this spring tablescape, as I do all your others. But, seeing this particular one puts me in a happy frame of mind with the hope of Spring just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteHowever, my question is about the very colorful glass bottle "tree" that looks to be out on your deck. It is beautiful - please tell me about it. Is it something you made? Or, is it something that can be purchased?
Thanks!!
Susie
Thanks so much, Susie! I had been searching for an affordable bottle tree for a few years and one day I came across that one at Ballard Designs on sale for $60. It was originally well over $200...which was insane. I had been collecting pretty wine bottles and water bottles and I found some additional ones on sale half price at Hobby Lobby. You can read all about bottle trees at this link: http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/2010/03/bottle-treesthe-cure-for-those-pesky.html

Or just type bottle tree into the search box on the right side bar and it should pull up all the posts I've written about them. :)
Susan ~ Thanks so much for those links. I have bookmarked them and will look at them in greater length tomorrow. I love the idea of a cheerful bottle tree in my garden, but had never heard of them. Guess what my project will be for this spring and summer??? :-)
