I've had a blast checking out the "Before and Afters" linked for yesterday's Met Monday! Be sure to scroll on down and check them all out if you have a few minutes.
Yesterday I did some drive-by shopping...you know, the kind where you're really out on another errand but your car just sort of steers ya by some of your fave stores. It's that time of year when the seasons are changing and holidays are coming at us left and right. We just finished Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day is almost upon us and Easter is right behind. So I had to see what was shaking in some of my favorite haunts.
First stop...Tuesday Morning. Check out all the adorable bunnies they have in! (All pics in the stores were taken with my camera phone. Click on any pic to enlarge then hit the back arrow to return to the post.) That bunny on the left looks like he saying, "Take me, take me!"
Don't those guys above remind you of these much more expensive versions below from a store with the initials P.B. I'm just sayin'.
More bunnies at Tuesday Morning. Love the lidded dish with the resting bunny. Wouldn't it be cute on a table as a serving piece. I didn't buy anything but these pics are making me want to go back.
The last of the bunnies from Tuesday Morning. I didn't jot down prices but they ranged from around $10 to 20, depending on the size of the bunny.
Next I headed over to Old Time Pottery. I keep eyeing these fun, wavy dishes. They are only $3.99 per dinner plate. The salad size was even less.
They have the cutest turkey tureens. These would make a great centerpiece on a Thanksgiving table this year? I think they were in the $12 range, if I'm remembering correctly.
Saw lots of cute polka-dot cookware...
The lantern on this table came from Old Time Pottery last summer. Remember the glasses...I used in this beach themed table setting...
and this beachy table setting?
They still have them at my local Old Time Pottery. I love them for summer dining. The blue decorated with cute Adirondack chairs are $1.49 each and the spring green are $2.49 each.
A good while back I created this fun tablescape using hula skirts from Big Lots as a table cloth. You can see how I took the skirts apart to create the table HERE.
They have a whole section in Old Time Pottery that's filled with fun things for a luau party...
Wouldn't this be great for a pool party this summer...either for kids or adults?
Remember THIS post where I shared this awesome Halloween porch from Pottery Barn online? Notice the fab lanterns...
And the black lanterns on this other PB Halloween porch.
Old Time Pottery has similar lanterns for a whole lot less. I love getting the P. B. look for 1/3rd the price! I have even given the lanterns as gifts to friends because they are so beautiful and so reasonably priced.
I bought one last year from Old Time Pottery and used it when I decorated the porch for Halloween. I should have Photoshopped out that outlet, like I talked about in THIS post. lol Sorry...couldn't help but notice it.
I used it again on my Christmas porch? (Psst: You'll find the tutorial for making this P. B. knockoff garland HERE.)
I also used it as a centerpiece in this fall table setting. Lanterns are so versatile!
Here's a close up of one of the many styles I saw at Old Time Pottery.
This one was huge! It would be great to put along a garden path or at the end of your front walkway to greet guests for a party.
Of course, you know I had to check out the candlesticks and votive holders while there...
Love all the storage ideas...
Cute place mats for spring and summer...
After I finished up at Old Time Pottery, I headed over to Big Lots where I found these cute things. Centerpiece for a summer tablescape? Ummm, I'm thinking. They were $6 each...more than I wanted to spend. I'm going to attempt to make my own and if they turn out, I'll be back with the tutorial on how to make them in the next few days. Update: You'll find the tutorial for making these HERE.
I carried this tray around with me for a while before finally putting it back. I think I'm going to have to go back and get it. It was only $12.
So there ya have it...a little spring shopping at some of my favorite haunts. Are you doing any spring shopping, yet?
Psst: Still haven't heard from all the winners of the Fish Foam giveaway. Did you win? Check out the Giveaway post HERE to see.

I love Tuesday Mornings in my area too...
ReplyDeleteCute bunnies:))
Have a blessed week Susan!
Kay Ellen
I love all of these places, too. Lots of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Susan.
Not yet, but this is pretty inspiring. It's a good reminder to get out there early before it's all gone!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a tease! i haven't done any shopping or looking as we are moving April 1!
ReplyDeleteNot doing any spring shopping yet, but I am into spring cleaning. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed shopping with you! There is an Old Time Pottery not too far from me. I need to stop in there soon I see! Thanks for sharing your finds!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have an Old Time Pottery! I wish we did, it looks amazing! Sigh... I do love Tuesday Morning! Looks like some fun shopping for Spring!
ReplyDeleteXO Cindy
whoa, i've never seen an old time pottery, although that's probably for the best!
ReplyDeleteI love the things in Old Time Pottery ! I have no idea where there is one? Is it a southern chain? I have never heard of it before you :(
ReplyDeleteDawn, Here's a map showing all the locations. Looks like they are mostly southern but go up to Indiana and Illinois and Missouri. http://www.oldtimepottery.com/locations
DeleteI am still trying to be good - but these pictures sure are tempting. It is probably just as well OTP closed the store here. The one here never looked that neat.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I had the subscribe by email on this and kept waiting for the winner blog but never saw it. I just found the winners in the original post and they weren't ME????? Darn! If someone doesn't want their winnings--I'll be happy to step in (I'm selfless like that hehehehe)
ReplyDeleteFor this blog, I am still spinning with all of the wonderful stuff available! Cool! I think I know what I want to do with my way cool red wine bottle now...
I gave up on Tuesday Morning and have gone whole hog at Home Goods. Boy do I love those stores. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteRichard...love HomeGoods, too...another fave!
DeleteDid a little of that early spring gazing/shopping/hanging onto it then putting it back kinda browsing earlier today myself. Funny, came home to see it is apparently in the air!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics - from your PHONE? WOW.
You have such a trained eye. How I would love to hit those stores with you then go have a girlie lunch. Would be the perfect day, in my humble opinion.
Do you have any Christmas Tree Stores in your area? We don't have any OTPs anymore, they all left and I have shopped the CTS in Connecticut before and wished so often we had one, very similar concept and super cheap - the Look for Less works for me every time.
Love those white bunnies, you need some of those don't you? : - p
Hugs.
Michele, the nearest CTS is about 2-3 hours away in Augusta, GA. I'm not sure why they don't have one here in metro Atlanta. I hope some of the Old Time Pottery's reopen. We had two here in the Atlanta area and one closed a few years ago. Just one left now and it's about 15 minutes from my house. We would definitely have fun together!
DeleteI sure wish they'd open a CTS closer to me in OH!!!! I've begged them several times!
DeleteWe could start a campaign to let them know how many of us want them.
Hi Susan, Your Bunny finds are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun checking them out.
God Bless
Barb from Australia
Hey Susan, Thanks for sharing all these wonderful spring things. I"m feeling the need to peruse all the Spring offerings, too. Where is the OTP in Atlanta? My friend andI are coming down in April for a shopping trip, and we need to go to there!
ReplyDeleteThe only one I know of in Metro Atlanta is on Canton Hwy. (Highway 5) in Marietta, Georgia.
DeleteOk, now you did it, I'm off to Tuesday Morning! Great bunnies. Thankfully there is no Old Time Pottery around here or I'd be broke!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Easter inspiration!
Susan
Susan,
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog and it is delightful! I love all your pictures. I've never heard of Old Time Pottery but I can tell you that I am going to google it as soon as I have finished typing this post!
Blessings,
Gina
Oh my goodness, it's probably a blessing I've never been to an Old Time Pottery before! I would go broke! That polka dotted section alone would do me in! LOL
ReplyDeleteOle Time Pottery is one of my favorite stores in South Carolina!
ReplyDeleteSusan I love it all. So inspiring. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI was there this morning and saw those rabbits, they are so cute. You can never have too many rabbits. I found the sweetest lidded dish with a little duck (or was it a chick) 0n top. I'll share it later.
ReplyDelete~Clara
Thanks for the Tuesday Morning tip! Cute bunnies!
ReplyDeleteHI Susan, I was just at our Tues. Morning and they were almost wiped out of bunnies! I would give anything to have anOTP in our state. I ahve e-mailed them BEGGING to build one here:):) While at my sisters in Fl. I FORGOT to go to Old Time...............I can't believe it!!!!! I woul,d have bought so many things. Thanks (I think) for sharing this:):):) XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteTuesday Morning is one of my favorite stores. Love the bunnies! Thanks for the tour of the stores. I love shopping to see what is out there. Window shopping with you from my lap top is a blast. I'm in NC. No Old Time Pottery.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know about all these goodies, Susan! I'm definitely going to have to pay a visit to the Old Time Pottery near me. I've been looking for a lantern, and those are great! Also love those cute bunnies at Tuesday Morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and have a good week.
Denise
Oh my word, I am loving that Old Time Pottery. They don't have them in CA, but lucky for me, they have a couple in my next place, Tennessee. Can't wait to check it out!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at polka dot cookware. *swoon!*
ReplyDeleteI can't thank you enough for helping me discover that OLD TIME Pottery was located here in Ohio! I just posted about my shopping trip there & its funny, but I took many of the same photos you did! GMTA!
ReplyDeleteNow I'll have to hit Tues. Morning for at least ONE of those darling bunnies. You are an enabler, ya' know...seriously contributing to my dish habit! LOL
Thanks & Hugs,
Rett
Not fair we don't have an Old Time Pottery! I'll have to do with Tuesday Morning.
ReplyDeleteAmazing Post.Everything rocks. And i love the fab lanterns well.Really Wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteWish we had the pottery store here. I would love to have the turkey tureen! Thanks for showing this today. olsonsforchrist@msn.com
ReplyDeleteI have been to Old Time Pottery when I lived in Florida..We have Carolina Pottery here...I think Old Time has more of a selection..miss it!..I love looking at your old posts...they are so well done and beautiful....
ReplyDeleteSusan, oh how I would love to have a shopping adventure with you! We do not have an Old Time Pottery, and I suspect that it is really better for my wallet that we do not. I have not gotten into the Tuesday Morning habit, but perhaps I should give it another try. As someone else commented, my most addictive shopping spot is Home Goods. On a given day I can stop at three of them if I am on the "hunt". It is really bad when you enter the store and all the salespeople know you! Thank you for taking us all along on your Spring scouting trip. As always, you captured wonderful images for us to enjoy. Just looking at all the wonderful pastels hues of the season brings a smile.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing how you recreate the bottles with the shells. This week at Michaels,I purchased some little sea glass colored bottles with a single shell tied at the neck( 50% off). I thought they would be lovely as individual favors at each place setting. If you do one of the large bottles for a centerpiece, you might be interested in the small ones. Looking forward to tomorrow's Tablescapes. MM
I'll have that tutorial up soon...almost have it ready. :) Thanks for the tip on the smaller bottles!
DeleteWhat a fun store and great post, so chock full of beauty. I could spend all day in a store like that.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, always something beautiful.
Aww, thanks Christy! ♥
DeleteWe live in a town of less than 5,000... NO stores here at all-have to drive an hour to civilization in Bend, and then-No Hobby Lobby. No Old Tyme Pottery. No...nuthin' LOL.
ReplyDeleteWe are off to San Diego in September tho-and that cannot come fast enough for me! Will be so fun to window shop in a real city again( I've lived in NY, TX, and Melbourne, Australia-all fabby shopping towns)
I love it when you take us shopping with you! I have loved Tuesday Morning for years. It has really changed over the years as it has grown. They really only opened on Tuesday Mornings back in the day when it started !!
ReplyDeleteI will have to journey up to Marietta to visit OTP. I went to their location site, and look what I saw: Old Time Pottery---Mark your calendars. Our big 26th Anniversary Sale begins March 8th !
I guess I will reserve my trip for then. My other fav places are Hobby Lobby,Pier One,and Kirkland's. One place that has the unusual and unique, and good sales on markdowns is Cracker Barrell ! I told my kids I will take gift certificates any day from any one of these stores.
Cece...thanks for the heads up on the sale...I'll have to stop back by when again! You and I would be great shopping buds because I love all those places, too. I realized the other day that I hadn't been by Cracker Barrell in ages. I love to stop in and see their seasonal stuff...they carry some fun things! Smart idea on the gift certificates.
DeleteO, Susan would love to tag team you as you drive by shopping. All we have here on the west coast is drive by shootings...and no Old Time Pottery stores. See there are all southern stores. Just as well, as I would be in there everyday.
ReplyDeleteStill loving your impromptune post of "what I cant live without daily". Wrote down some fun things in my iPhone notes pad for shopping
Thanks for sharing as usual
Cyndy
Gosh I wish I lived in YOUR town! These would be some of my favorite haunts too! Now I get an idea of where you find so many of the cute things you use on your tablescapes. {Jealous}
ReplyDeleteI'd love to haunt those places, too, but I live in a smaller city. However, I do love to follow you around via your photos and drool at all the pretties you find! What fun to be able to wander through those stores. We do have BigLots here, and I think I need to take a stroll through soon!
ReplyDeleteHugs, GraceinAZ
I have no willpower. Once I saw those shiny white rabbits, I knew I'd be in the car. I can't believe the quality for the price -- one was $5 and the other $7. And, yes, they do look exactly like those ones from (ahem) W.S. & P.B. Thanks for the tip. I love buying spring things and these will work for much longer than just Easter.
ReplyDeleteI know...I was so surprised at how nice they were and the price was awesome! Glad you snagged some before they were all gone. When I went back the next day, the really big one that was asking me to take him home had already been adopted. lol I did get a smaller one, though.
DeleteThen, I'm looking forward to seeing that bunny brother/sister of mine in one of your next decorating photos. For some reason, that green ribbon sealed the deal. Thanks for writing!
DeleteThanks for taking us on your shopping trip, Susan! Tuesday Mornings is a wonderful place to find treasures. They had the most beautiful vintage Easter cards last year, glittered and mounted on cardboard with a satin ribbon attached so you could hang them. At only $2 I only wish I'd bought more! If I could put my hands on some vintage cards they'd be very easy to make.
ReplyDeleteThose bunnies from Tuesday Morning are SO cute! I'm going tomorrow for sure! I love decorating for Easter! Old Time Pottery looks like such a fun store. I wish we had one here! And the bottles with seashells from Big Lots are super cute. I didn't see those when I was there, but I did see that cute She Sells Seashells sign and wanted to buy it. Now I think I have to go there tomorrow, too! Reading blogs is bad for my checkbook!
ReplyDeleteMichelle
lol Michelle, I know...dangerous, isn't it? :) Check out the tutorial post for the beach bottles. Those are super inexpensive to make.
DeleteThanks, Susan, for reminding me why I need to come to Marietta again and go to Old Time Pottery! The other one that used to be in ATL was about 20 minutes away. I really miss it. There are so many Cracker Barrels around ATL - went this morning and there are a lot of Easter items. Home Goods is a frequent haunt of mine, also. ATL has several of these (there are 3 I go to - one only about 7 minutes away "depending on traffic and how I hit the lights" - I'm sure you understand this living in this area!! Thank you for all your wonderful tablescapes! You have truly been a real inspiration to me! Always look forward to seeing an e-mail with your latest blog message.
