I need that to..also the blue willow in the china cabinet...I had those skates as a kid and yes they had a key..oh the memories those bought back to me spending all winter in the basement skating...I can't believe your prices there girl...are things here are so high..but so many of our shops are going out of business now!! At Friday, September 26, 2008 , Glenda said...: Did anyone else ever try to use these kind of skates with canvas tennis shoes? Doesn't work too well, not enough of a grip or tension on the shoe. When I was about eight, Santa brought me some "sidewalk shoe skates" and solved that problem. I never could keep up with that darn skate key, unless I wore it on a cord around my neck. You sure brought back some memories today.

I wore my skate key on a string around my neck, and looking back on it, that was probably dangerous. Now, there's probably some rule about not putting anything on a string around your child's neck. If I hadn't, I would still be wearing those skates, because without the key I couldn't get them off! Now, this is what's funny. I still have my key-no skates though! Laurie (bargainhunr)
