Five Tablescapes, One Silver Tray! Welcome to the 55th Tablescape Thursday!

You know how I'm always talking about "playing in the dishes?" Well, the last few days I REALLY played in the dishes. Is it wrong to have this much fun? :-) Hope you enjoy these five very different, mini-tablescapes...all displayed on the same silver tray.

Welcome to the 12th Tablescape Tuesday!

Let's celebrate the approach of the holiday season with a tablescape that has the feel of a snowy evening. I've dimmed the lights and lit the candles...so glad you've stopped by this chilly winter night.




The centerpiece for our winter-scape is a silver "tree" covered in 17 Swarovski crystal ornaments. I've been collecting them since 1991, when Swarovski created the first ornament in this collection. Each year Swarovski alternates the style of the ornament...producing a snowflake ornament one year and a star ornament the next. I'm always amazed that they can come up with a new design each year.




The first year I started the collection, I hung the ornament on our regular live Christmas tree. By the second year, I realized how easy it would be to accidentally toss a crystal ornament right out with the tree. So I bought a little silver tree for this collection and boy, did those two little ornaments look pitiful hanging on that tree all alone that second year. It's been fun adding one little ornament at a time each year and gradually watching the tree fill up. I actually had to purchase a second tree two years ago, as the first little tree became full...scary how quickly the years do pass.

  


The china is Colburn by Noritake and the sterling flatware is King Richard by Towle. This was the china and sterling pattern I chose as a bride-to-be back in 1978. I still love both, after all these years. :-)




The Colburn pattern is a soft blue and gray...just perfect for a winter tablescape.






Icy crystal salt cellars continue the wintery feel.




The crystal I chose to go with the Colburn china so many years ago is by Lenox. It has an etched design around the upper half and a platinum rim that coordinates nicely with the Colburn china.

Reindeer, all dressed in silver...


...they give this tablescape a whimsical feel...and every table needs a touch of whimsy, don't you think? :-)

Added some sparkly snow drifts around the base of the ornament tree.




I placed a glittery silver ornament at each place setting. Thought they would make wonderful little gifts for dinner guests to take home...a little reminder of a night spent dining among snowflakes, stars and silvery reindeer.








I have quite a few of these silver and crystal ornaments. Can you think of other neat ways to use them...perhaps hanging from a chandelier?
