Let's go Shopping and Have Lunch at Gabriel's

A few weeks ago, I stopped by a little shop in Marietta, Georgia called Ivy and Twine. After I finished shopping, I popped next door for some lunch at Gabriel's. Gabriel's is owned by Johnnie Gabriel, who just so happens to be a cousin of Paula Deen. :-) They are known for their lavish desserts, but they also serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. I enjoyed it so much, I've already been back for lunch again.

Ivy and Twine is a wonderful shop filled with lots of Frenchy decor. They carry antiques, reproductions, gifts, topiaries and lots of other fun accessories for the home. Terri Hendricks, the owner of Ivy and Twine, greeted me warmly as I came in.

Hope you enjoy shopping...I'll hush and let you browse. :-)

Wouldn't these be great in a tablescape?

Cute!

This caught my eye. There are magnets on the back of each of the flatware pieces, so they will hold your notes or perhaps a menu on the board. Would love this in a kitchen. :-)

The soft colors are so pretty...love this piece.

Lots of pretty cloches...

It was a little before Easter when I was in shopping...

Great rooster lamp!

This looks like it would be easy to copy...all you crafty DIY bloggers here in Blogland!

Fun disposable placemats...

If you are coming for the evening of shopping at A Classy Flea in Marietta on Saturday, May 1st, that would be a great time to check out Ivy and Twine. Don't forget to stop by Gabriel's for one of their famous desserts...you know you just have to keep up your stamina for some serious Flea shopping that night! :-) You can read more about our night at A Classy Flea HERE.

Susan, thank you for sharing this shopping trip. Ivy and Twine looks like a wonderful shop full of great finds. Love that rooster lamp and the set of poetry books. Wish I could be in Atlanta for the upcoming event.
Stop by HFTS when you have time and take a look at my monkey post for Alphabe-Thursday's letter M. I forgot to work in the Kaldun & Bogle monkey pitcher you helped me track down, but there is another K&B monkey I've added that you might like to see. I'll have to plan another monkey post for the pitcher. :-)

Hey Sweetie,
Question about the AKA markers, don't we just love them ;)
I use alcohol on a little cloth, if that don't work then try fingernail polish remover as well.
Adhesive remover is great for those nasty problem markers that just want to follow you home!
Good luck!
Melissa

Great store, Susan. Do you have pics of the restaurant, too? I have my favorite store, somewhat like this one, that I frequent, way too often :)

Good Morning Susan, This place spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E! I would help the economy greatly but oh, my bank account would feel the pain! What delightful things did you buy. I was peeking at the prices and they seem very reasonable, but there is so much that would be so happy in my home! What a fun place to "shopping spree"! You captured the creative displays perfectly so we can shop right along with you.
Very fun way to start a Saturday morning!
Blessings,
Yvonne

Susan, you have given me so many ideas on places to shop. Thank you! I live and work in Canton but I seldom go to Marietta. Isn't that crazy? It's not like it's a long drive. I hope to make it to both places you mentioned in this post very soon. Thanks again for sharing your home and wonderful ideas with the rest of us.

I am sure I could find something to buy, but I didn't see any dishes..:(
I have to say I am not loving the burlap trend...but maybe because I see so much of it around here on trees and shrubs to stop the deer from devouring them during the winter!
I look fwd to the pics of the Classy Flea..I know they have dishes!

I have seen Johnnie on Paula's show. I can only imagine the wonderful delights that could be found at Gabriels.
Have fun at the Classy Flea. Makes me wish I lived closer.

What a very cool store and how neat to eat in that restaurant.
We ate at (of all things) a casino in Tunica that had a Paula Deen buffet. It also had one her shops in the restaurant lobby. All of the food was her recipes and that place was packed. Wonderful food!!
