Beach Front Condo Renovation, Part I

Recently, Suzy, who blogs at Worthing Court, shared a wonderful renovation of her beach house.

When Suzy and her hubby first purchased their beach front condo, it was in really rough shape.  Suzy looked out at this gorgeous view, closed her eyes and envisioned what this home could become.  The transformation is astounding...truly beautiful.

Before
This was the view as Suzy entered the condo.

Before:

This small condo is just 500 square foot, but it was the perfect size for a little beach getaway.  Here's how it looked once they completed the makeover.  Wow!

Suzy replaced all the ancient carpet with laminate hardwood floors,  They removed wallpaper, killed mold, sanded and painted the walls, ceiling and trim.

Here's how the darling bunk beds in the hallway looked after a complete redo.

This area was designed for visits from the grandchildren

Each bunk got it's own light and outlet for electronics.  Suzy made the cute oversize bolsters.

Here's how the living room looked prior to its makeover.  The previous owners left the furniture behind but Suzy knew there was no way it was staying.

Another Before pic showing the sitting/dining area...

And here's how the living room looked afterwards.  In addition to the new flooring and paint, Suzy also added/replaced ceiling fans throughout the home.  The new couch is a sofa/sleeper...handy for those extra guests.

The sitting area on the other side of the living room...

The new dining area...with a glimpse into the kitchen.

Stay tuned for the Kitchen, Bath and Master Bedroom renovation...they are beautiful!

  1. Suzy has impeccable taste. Love the colorful bunk area and the blue tile echoed in her chairs. I'm trying to figure out how putting a larger frame around the air conditioner actually makes it look better, less intrusive. By emphasizing, she de-emphasized?? I don't know -- it's a puzzle.

  12. OMG - I am pretty darn sure this is the same ocean front condo my husband and I almost purchased a unit at last year. On Topsail Beach, NC. It is too coincidental bc they look identical. I recognized that beach scene immediately. ALL of these units are in dire need of refurbishing. LOL We didn't buy, but now I wish we had. LOL
