You're a Grand Old Flag...Touring Main Street America!

In celebration of Independence Day, I thought we would take little tour of "Main Street America." These beautiful, historic homes all have one thing in common...they are all flying the colors! I love seeing an American flag blowing in the breeze from a wonderful old porch.

These homes are from various places in the southeast. Some are in Greenwood and Columbia, South Carolina and Asheville, NC but most are in Marietta, Rome and Roswell, Georgia. I've also added a few from a recent trip to Savannah and the Isle of Hope. See if you can spot the flags and/or patriotic bunting in each picture. Some are a little tricky to see, but they are there. Hope you enjoy the tour!

Hope you enjoyed the tour. Did you find all the flags?

See you Sunday evening for Metamorphosis Monday! I have a fun surprise for you. It's something I've been wanting to do for three years and I finally did it! :)

Pssst: If you're looking for a cute patriotic napkin ring for your 4th of July festivities, I posted a tutorial HERE for the napkin ring I used in this tablescape, HERE.

Beutiful pictures of some gorgeous old homes! I especially loved seeing the bunting - there's nothing more americana than bunting on a home in July. Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely post! The houses are all so pretty and American.
When I was younger we lived in a house identical to the 10th house from the bottom (the brick house with the high peak). Our house was reversed though and had a slighly extended archway over the door to form a very small porch. The windows on the far left of the house (the far right on ours) are a sun room. We turned it into a library and it was my favorite room in the house.

We share a love for old houses and a love of our country. Thanks for the tour. When we go for a tour, I'm usually driving and I can't concentrate on the details. So your tour was so much better!

Ironstone and Pine, that adorable house in located on Kennesaw Avenue in Marietta, Georgia. I love it's roof line. I love houses with multiple pitches or eves or whatever you call that. Throw in a few dormer windows and I'm totally smitten.

Old houses have so much more character than new. I would do anything to be able to sit on one of those porches & just rock my life away on a rocking chair, enjoying life with my family. ah, so delightful.

Beautiful photos - thank you for sharing them - I'm a sucker for old houses - we bought ours 15 years ago as a fixer-upper and I saw the very same style in one of your photos above.
