Beautiful Historic Home & Tablescape Tour

Did you get a chance to visit the wonderful "Before and Afters" posted yesterday for Met Monday? If not, scroll down and check them out once you are done reading today's post. You will come away inspired by all the creative projects and home improvements that are taking place in Blogland!

My friend, Bonnie, had the opportunity to go on a wonderful historic home tour recently in Campbell, California. She shared these great pics so I'm sharing them with you...just a little more Christmas decorating/tablescaping inspiration. Enjoy!

Wow....look at this table! I've been doing some reading online about the difference between tulle and organza. This may be organza, although, I'm having trouble telling for sure. Tulle is supposed to be more of an open, net type fabric and would be a bit harsh on the arms or elbows when used to cover a table. So, we'll say this is organza. Whatever it is, it's gorgeous!

One of many beautiful trees you'll see throughout this home...

This table setting has such an ethereal feel...

Maybe fairies will be dining here. :-) Notice the flatware holders...

Even the tree coordinates with the the table...or is it the other way around? ;-)

I like this way better than a sink full of dishes! (LOL)

Aunt Bea just stepped away for a moment. She'll be right back...

Pretty in Pink...

I'd love to do a tree like this next year. I just love the way the tulle (or organza) encircles the tree, slightly slanting in a spiral as it goes from the top to the bottom. Just gorgeous!

Beautiful!

Lots of sparkle!

(LOL) Remember this pic from the end of my Met Monday post. Bonnie found this funny guy "soaking" on this tour. Thanks, Bonnie for sharing all these great pics with us!

See you tomorrow evening for Tablescape Thursday!

The table is definetly Organza...I think the wrap on the tree is tulle...when you see them together, it is much easier to see the differance and recognize it in future...either way, both are beautiful and can be used in may ways. Great pictures as always...Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the tour-very beautiful! Very unique.

Your Christmas tablescape with your Lenox Holiday is so beautiful. So many details that pull it all together like the snow. Of course, your crystal is beautiful and the Christmas village is a treasure. Love how you incorporate the nandina . Also think the reticulated charger adds a great look. I have the same china but you have a special knack of creating beautiful and interesting combinations.

This historic home and all of the decor' is gorgeous! I really do love the gold tulle tree and was also thinking of that idea for next year as well. It's such a lovely and very elegant effect.

I'll go my RMS and rate your amazing table. I haven't been by there in forever...I hope I don't get hooked on it again. He!

Merry Christmas & Many Blessings!

So many beautiful spaces! I definitely feel like I underdid it with my one tree this year! Should I run out tomorrow and get one more?

I just love the way each tree carries a theme and some even have freestanding accessories. Very inspiring. . . !!
Warmly,
Kerri

wonderful tour of a Christmas house! Even the bedrooms get a tree! PHEW a lot of storage here after all is said and done! I complain about my 6 large storage boxes. I wont anymore! I can see my house needs a little more DO to make it worthy of a tour! Maybe next year. LOL Merry Christmas!

Susan - loved the tour. My favorite is also the lavender, altho I'd take any room as long as somebody else did it up for me.

I'll be sure to vote for you, too.

Tulle has, I think, different degrees of refinement. My wedding veil was of bridal tulle, a very fine, gentle to the touch fabric. My tutu, when I was very young, was also of tulle - harsh and scratchy.

Which ever the fabric is, it is beautiful. In some party book I read, they wrapped a string of white lights in tulle and then wrapped the whole thing around a punch bowl - that had a real WOW factor! I'm thinking on my table top tree next year.

What a delightful home. You can almost feel the magic through the screen. The tablescape is amazing. I would love to have a bank of windows around a table. Can you imagine the view and the feeling you would get.The sink full of presents is a "darling" idea.. Susan,Are the kids coming this year? Catie and the kids will be her tomorrow evening, I can hardly wait..will put some laughter in the house.. You've truly enriched my life these past couple of years. I'm so blessed to call you friend.. From our home to yours A Very Merry Christmas.. many many hugs ~lynne~
