Let's Go Shopping at A Classy Flea!

We are looooong overdue for a shopping trip to the Flea! I've been having major withdrawals! As I pulled up out front and started walking toward A Classy Flea, I wondered...will there be anything left after all the crazy, frenzied buying of Christmas? Will the dealers have had time to go out and find more wonderful goodies to tempt us all? Let's go in and see...

I LOVE this adorable ladies dressing table...only $75

Here's a close-up of the pretty aqua green striped fabric...

I have a weakness for firescreens...forgot the price on this one but I do remember it was reasonable...

This chest was such a pretty soft blue color: $339

Wedgwood Majolica plates: $75 each

If you live in or near Georgia, you've probably heard of The Blue Willow Inn: $6

Black Wicker Furniture...I think the chair was around $89...didn't get a price on the rest...

Angel Wings...now I just know some of you creative bloggers could come up with some fabulous ideas for these precious life size wings!

They were only $29

Gorgeous drop leaf table: $269

Cute desk: $119

Upside down Christmas tree: $89 and I think it was 50% off that price...

Beautiful Demilune Mahogany Server with Inlay: $459

Johnson Bros "Old Britain Castles"...dinner plates were $9.99 each

Bread plates were $5.95

Bet this is good since it's by Southern Living...$6

Another interesting looking book: $6.95

Great for the shabby chic fans: $8

Vintage Flexible Flyer...love these old sleds for decorating with at Christmas. I tied a big plaid bow to mine and put it by my front door this year as part of my Christmas decor. To see that post, click HERE. This sled was only $19.95

Antique Green Vanity: $245

Tole Tray: $35...not a bad price at all!

Italian lamp: $38

Wonderful Needlepoint Fire Screen: $149

Hope you enjoyed this Friday's trip to A Classy Flea! So, what would you have bought? :-) If you'd like directions to A Classy Flea or would like to see pics of some of the booths, take a look at their website by clicking HERE.

You know those books enticed me! However, I've just unpacked 6 boxes of books and put them back in the office I don't think I really need anymore.. Oh shoot.. what's a couple of more? :-) good thing this is all virtual huh? Now, I'm loving those dishes and that needlepoint firescreen is "screaming" my name. I'm curious.. what purchases did you make? This was great fun..

I have that Blue Willow cookbook and it's a good one, especially for beginners or if you just want some plain good food!

I have the Flexible Flyer, too, but for twenty bucks would have bought another.

So, I guess my purchase would have been the soft blue chest or the black wicker furniture..lots of good finds!

So did you bring anything home?
Some good prices there, I would have come home with a couple of those things. The little chest of drawers, good piece to redo. Little vanity was good too.
Glad you got out to look even, sometimes that is fun enough.
Linda

When I was very small we had a vanity like the one shown in your first picture. The skirt opened on both sides in the front for access to underneath the vanity. You had room there for storing a small stool for seating.
Really good price on the cookbook. I gave more than three times that for my copy.
Flexy racers were a major Christmas wish for many children about fifty years ago. Often it was the only thing they asked Santa to bring them. The one you showed actually looks like a sled. The racer had wheels not runners and a movable cross-ways handlebar for steering the front wheels.

Oh Susan I would have been so tempted by the blue chest. Of course I would change the color to some shade of olive. It's so funny that you posted that picture of the book about The Blue Willow Inn. I have been craving that place for the last few weeks and dying to visit the new shops that they just opened behind the restaurant. We only live about 20 minutes from Social Circle.. and years ago my Mom had a lil shop there in town called Cherished In Time. There won't be any pondering on where to go this weekend for date night.. we'll be heading to The Blue Willow Inn!

The angel wings are perfect for kids pics. I have a friend who husband had their kids pics taken with them on. Just white undershirts and undies, white socks and the wings. It was precious.

Susan,
Oh! I miss the Classy Flea! I haven't been there in a few months due to the Christmas drain on the old pocketbook, but I would love it if you would go to my blog and check out my December 1st post. I wrote about YOU in it. I went shopping at the Classy Flea for furniture and happened across another treasure just days before you posted about it on your blog. When I read your post and saw my treasure in it, I knew I had to write about it. What a coincidence that you would take a picture of that very item out of all of the things they have in that wonderful store! It is thanks to YOU that I even shop there. I didn't even know about it before reading it on your blog. I am starting to fill my house now with the beautiful furniture I am finding there. Thanks for showing everyone this wonderful store! My little treasure now sits proudly atop the hutch in my dining room.
Blessings,
Kymber

I'd dress up in her heals.. wear her make up... great memory!!

I just love cyber shopping.First you need to go back and buy those wings. I was actually looking for wings at Christmas time to put in my guest room where I used the feather boa and feather wreat over the window.Your feather tree was my inspiration,so you see the wings could be used in your guest room. Now down to shopping,I would have bought the wings but since you saw them first they belong to you,I would have bought all the books except for the shabby chic, I already have that. The butter plates and the two Majolica plates.I have lettuce plates but would love to upgrade to true Majolica.Well I just had the best little shopping trip. Thank you again and by the way, have a great day at the Atlanta flea, give Deb a hug and if you see Eddie Ross tell him Kathysue said hi,I love Eddie Ross. Hugs to you my friend, Kathysue

I have a tendency to get rid of things and then regret it terribly! I recently got rid of a gorgeous drop leaf table exactly like that, and sold it in a garage sale for 25 dollars. It was my Grandmother's, and I kept the hutch, but I don't have a dining room, and the extra table was just too big to store any more. NOW...I want it back. Also got rid of a much loved hoosier and pie safe, due to having too much furniture. NOW...I am sick!!!!

Wow, thanks for taking us on another fine shopping trip where I didn't spend any $$! My hubby would be proud. (Of course, I haven't yet been over to their website). Even though I'm not a horse person, I thought the fire screen was beautiful! I loved the majolica plates, but a little to expensive for by thrifty self! Also love the British Castles. The mahogany server w/ inlay would have probably been in the back of my SUV! LOL!

Hello Susan; Oh my I had a lovely time at the Classy Flea; So many great looking antiques. If I had the money I would have bought the black wicker love seat, and the dressing table. I have always wished for a dressing table. But my bedroom is too small for one, darn it all.

Thanks for sharing your great trip;

This week I would have gone for the majolica and the transferware! It was another fun trip. The classy flea's prices are way cheaper than the antique sale I was just at this weekend! I tried to bargain with a vendor for some fiesta ware and some jadite and she wouldn't budge. you know what, then neither did I. I'm getting brave in my old age - LOL! ~ Robyn

Oh, fun! When I lived in atlanta, I used to run to the Classy Flea at lunch time. I had just enough time to go through the Flea and run over to a Goodwill- think it must have been the Marietta Goodwill- and make it back just in time. I still have several pieces of furniture from the Calssy Flea. Oh, I miss that place!

Ohhhh, there are so many ahead of me that would love to own those wings, I have eight granddaughters who would love them. Also the firescreen would be just the right gift for our daughter. She had riding them for her wedding and that screen would be a great anniversary gift.

Our youngest son has a very similar dressing table at his home that I told him I'd take off his hands,;) for our guest bedroom. I hope it will be one of our future projects for that room.

Thanks so much for the tour.

Oh Susan - seeing that antique green vanity took me back to being 7 years old and playing Princess at my grandmother's house! She had a white one EXACTLY like that in "my" room at her house. I'd dress in my Mom's ball gowns or my ballet recital costumes and play with make-up in front of that mirror! I kept my treasures (Avon lipstick samples, etc.) in each drawer. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and for letting me be momentarily young again! Hugs - Kim

The dishes are great price too! I have that mirror on the vanity! It came with an antique dresser and tall chest. I been thinking of adding it to my vanity, that I have painted, stained, and used tumble marble on the top.I love the look of stain and paint. Hubby's going to tear down my stair case! Going to redo rooms upstairs, I talked him into, I hope to wait until, I go to the hospital, and finish the family and dining. My kitchen was almost done. Now the stair case is going, and he turning in a different direction. Had fun shopping! Wish those prices were here in Mississippi!
