Welcome to the 41st Metamorphosis Monday and Blue Monday!

(If pictures appear cut off on the right side, please try adjusting the screen resolution on your computer to a higher setting.)

I'm also thrilled to be linking this post to Blue Monday, hosted by Sally at Smiling Sally. When you are finished viewing all the great Before and Afters posted for today, be sure to stop by Sally's for lots of blue inspiration!

Before we dive into Met Monday and Blue Monday, I wanted to let you all know that Angela has added a few more fall tassels to her Etsy Shoppe, The Tassel House. Angela always sells out of the fall tassels really quickly, so if you missed getting one, here's your chance. She also, has some really cute ones that are designed as holiday gifts for teachers, like the darling snowman shown below. Can you believe he is only $11! Wow...awesome gift and so affordable! Click HERE to check out the available tassels at The Tassel House.

What would you do if you didn't like your mantel...just felt it was too plain and not large enough? Well, that's how Pinky and Joe felt about their mantel. Originally, the fireplace didn't have a mantel at all, so Joe added a very simple shelf to create a mantel that Pinky could decorate at Christmas time. Recently, they decided it was time to give it more substance and styling, or as Pinky put it, "dress it up." In the pic below, Joe has begun the renovation process by enlarging the existing mantel.

A side view...

Here's a view from the front as the mantel metamorphosis continued...

Definitely looking much more substantial! You can see Joe beginning the staining process in this pic below. They were loving the bigger mantel, but Pinky felt like something was still missing. The mantel still seemed a bit too plain.

Pinky used a lot of oriental pieces/accents in her family room, including the lamps on the mantel. This gave her the idea...how about adding some bamboo trim! She searched online and found just what she needed at Amazulu, Inc. Scott Cook assisted them and he can be reached at:(352) 243-5309 ext. 102 or scott@amazuluinc.com . They are located at: 1239 Commons Ct. Clermont, FL 34711

Here's the "After"...WOW...just beautiful! And here's our blue for Blue Monday...a painting with blue matting and beautiful blue and white porcelain. LOVE blue and white together!

A gorgeous custom designed mantel! I hope Joe got a big kiss for this redo...it turned out really great!

Now the fun begins...adding those decorative touches. The berries are so pretty paired with the blue and white porcelain.

And at night...so romantic! This is my favorite look!

Pinky and Joe liked the bamboo trim so much on the mantel, they decided to spruce up the area on either side of the fireplace under the balcony.

It ties in so nicely with the fireplace mantel, you'd think its always been there.

Amazing how small changes can make such a big impact!

Pinky and Joe...thanks so much for sharing your mantel renovation! I know this is going to provide tremendous inspiration for a lot of folks who have always wished their mantel was larger or had a bit more character.

You may see more of Pinky's beautiful home at Rate My Space by clicking HERE. She has some some gorgeous tablescapes posted on RMS, as well as a beautifully decorated fall porch!

Hi Susan,
Thanks for featuring such great posts from other sites. It's fun discovering new places to visit!
The mantel redo is great, looks terrific with the bamboo - very clever and unique.
We have a major mantel/fireplace surround redo coming up, hiving the hardest time making a final decision on the design. But this post helped a lot!
Thanks!
Have a great week, Susan.
