Welcome to the 40th Tablescape Thursday!

Wow, can you believe it...this is our 40th week for Tablescaping! THANK-YOU, dear friends, for participating during these past 40 weeks and making Tablescape Thursday such a fun event! I'm looking forward to many, many more!

This has been an exciting day for Between Naps on the Porch. Julia at Hooked on Houses is featuring the porch of BNOTP on her blog today! If you aren't familiar with Julia's fabulous blog, you are in for a treat. Julia goes behind the scenes for all of us and frequently posts large, beautiful pics of all those amazing movies houses we all drool over. She also hosts "Hooked on Fridays," a great blog party each Friday where bloggers can link a post showing what they are hooked on that week. Thank you, Julia...it's is an honor to be a part of your wonderful blog today!

You may recognize the pic below...it's of the tablescape I put together for last week's Tablescape Thursday.

Do you remember the floral centerpiece? It was comprised of purple Spiderwort and some white blossoms from a scraggly little shrub tree that grows wild under the trees in my back yard.

Right after I dissembled that tablescape, I decided to create another one using the same flowers, but in a different way.

I divided the flowers up into seven different little vases. The vases were arranged around two, tall, shabby-chic style candle holders. (Candle holders came from A Classy Flea several years ago.)

Found the little vases at the Dollar Tree...

Flowers from the yard and vases for $7...you really don't have to spend a lot to create a centerpiece. :-)
I used my favorite candle by Colonial Candle, in this centerpiece. Shipping is free on all orders ($50 or more) for readers of BNOTP. Just use the code NAPFREE at checkout!

The inspiration for this week's tablescape came from this little guy who told me his name is Oooh, oooh, Aaaah aaah, Eeee, eeee. I thought it was sort of a long name...but that's what he said. :-)

Oooh, oooh, Aaah, aaah, Eeee, eeee had the best time playing on my cabbage leaf pitcher...the little scamp! :-)

You can get your own Oooh, oooh, Aaah, aaah Eeee, eeee at Home Goods, but don't blame me if he wrecks the dishes!

By now, you know I love lots of layers in my place setting. Someone asked me recently how to use the various pieces...when to remove what? I'm putting together a little Question/Answer post that will touch on that...hope to get that up sometime soon.

A glass beaded napkin ring...click to enlarge pic...

Salad plate is from Home Goods...didn't have a pattern name on back.

Liked how the Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plates worked with the pitcher. :-) I fell in love with these when I spotted four of them in Ross. The search began for two more...eventually found one in Home Goods and one on e-Bay.

I'm using the large dinner plates from my set of Lenox, Butler's Pantry, as chargers in this tablescape. For added interest I placed a woven serving piece underneath. The texture worked well with this "jungle" of a tablescape.

Oooh, oooh, aaah, aaah, eeee, eeee suggested the bamboo flatware. He said if I used it, he would promise to NOT swing on the glassware.

Whew...glassware...still intact!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been monkeyin' around with this week. Awesome tablescapes await at the links below!

LOL, Susan! I see a monkey has invaded your tablescape too! Two of the rascally little devils invaded mine. Love it all, and especially the monkey pitcher. I'm going to have to check Dollar Tree for those cute vases. I've been finding lots of cool things there lately.

Monkeys are a feature at Linderhof -- you find them hiding everywhere! Love the little vases with flowers -- I do that often -- often it is better than one big arrangement.

As always, a great tablescape!

Love that little monkey. Remember the "No More Monkey's Jumping on the Bed" song from pre-school? I've had that running through my head since I opened your TT tonight. I have a question/suggestion. Would you do a tutorial on napkin folding? I would love that, and I'll bet others would too!

Can you share with me any tricks about making Mr. Linky work? I'm trying to hook up for Flaunt Your Reds on Friday and I'm not able to make it work. I did e-mail the help desk and they said it's on overload - that's after I paid for the membership.

Hi Susan,
He sure is a mischivous little monkey, but oh so very cute. He sure does add bunches of personality!

Yes, you can absolutely use any of the pics from our post. I have others and will email them to you. I am only able to send three at one time, for some reason they are too large even when I compress them.

Karyn and I are still talking about how much we enjoyed our luncheon and especially having the opportunity to meet you.

Take care,
Nola

I would love to find some green cabbage plates that weren't terribly expensive. When I do find them, they always are. I'm still looking! I love what you can do with a plate setting. Are you sure you don't want to start your own magazine dealing specifically with this subject? I think it would be a winner!

Hi there,

Wow - I'm telling you my table never looked as good as what I've seen since finding this tablescape Thursday thread. This is like out of a magazine!

I have one set of dishes and it's Corelle! Oh don't groan, we just aren't like "that" is all, plus we don't have room for all that stuff. I have to confess, mostly we eat at 8-9 pm, in bed while watching tv. Now be nice - it's just that I work up until then is all...

Ms. MaidenShade's table is reserved for the cats to sleep on(don't scream, we have a special acrylic topper just for them), when my in-laws come over or we have other company, ummm, which is never.

But, having said that - it doesn't mean I don't appreciate great effort, fine taste, and lovely things which is why I come here. It's high living done vicariously; )

TY, it is gorgeous!
